USA Gets December 14th Deadline from WTO
Posted on October 25, 2007The European Union and other U.S. trading partners have agreed to give the United States until December 14 to negotiate a package of trade concessions to compensate World Trade Organization (WTO) members for the U.S. pulling Internet gambling out of trade agreements, a U.S. trade official said on Monday. This extension of time to reach agreement also provides Congress further opportunity to avoid paying trade concessions worth an estimated $100 billion by regulating Internet gambling through legislation.
