Canadian Heads-Up Poker Championship Recap
Posted on March 8, 2008The decision amongst the pros was unanimous; the Canadian Heads Up Poker Championship has the best structure out of all the heads up tournaments in the world. The 10,000 stacks with 20 minute blinds and levels of 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, 300/600 and halting at 500/100, as well as a best of three format would make for very exciting matches filled with play. Half of the first round matches were to be played at 3pm, and the other half at 7pm. The notable first round matches were Brad Booth vs. Peter “Apathy” Jetten, and Steve Paul-Ambrose vs. Shaun Buchanon, with most other pros being teamed up with locals and other internet qualifiers.

Drama Unfolds at WSOP-C in Atlantic City
Posted on March 7, 2008Atlantic City, NJ – The first event of this year’s Caesars Atlantic City tournament series began with a huge turnout and some unexpected drama. A near-record 1,056 players showed up for Event #1, the $300 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em championship. This was one of the largest fields in the four-year history of the WSOP Circuit. Only a few events held last year in Tunica and Atlantic City attracted a bigger turnout.
