Jesse Green Wins at Heartland Poker Tour
Posted on March 14, 2008The Heartland Poker Tour’s fourth season continued onto the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, Iowa over the weekend. There were189 total main event players. Over 700 players played in the HPT qualifiers for the opportunity to have a seat in the main event. Jesse Green, a local farmer, won the HPT title and a large first prize of $80,664.

Dusty Hamers Wins at Heartland Poker Tour
Posted on February 27, 2008The Heartland Poker Tour’s fourth season got under way last week as players traveled from the four corners of the U.S. to play in the “real people” poker tour. Grand Casino Mille Lacs, a regular HPT tour stop and located 90 miles north of Minneapolis, was the host of 2008’s first HPT event. In all, there were five no-limit events and over a 1400 entries for the week’s tournaments.

Heartland Poker Tour Makes Arizona Stop
Posted on November 21, 2007The Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) made its first stop in Arizona this past week and crowned a new HPT champion. Andreas Foulias, fifty-three years old from Gilbert, Arizona, won the Texas No Limit Holdem poker tournament and close to $60,000. Foulias has proven to be the player to beat in Arizona this year. Besides winning this weekends Heartland Poker Tour title, Foulias also won the Arizona Poker Championship held in the Phoenix area in August.

U of Iowa Graduate Pockets $85,000
Posted on November 7, 2007Hundreds of players converged on central Iowa this past week for the Heartland Poker Tours Iowa State Poker Championship, held at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel, near the town of Tama, Iowa. In the end, Donny Carlton, a 23 year old professional poker player and recent University of Iowa graduate, took down the latest HPT championship and won over $85,000.

Painting Contractor Takes HPT Crown in Deadwood
Posted on October 22, 2007In a town famous for lawlessness and gun slinging cowboys from the Old West, six poker players filled the Heartland Poker Tours final table at the Lucky Nugget Card Club in what can only be described as a good old fashion shootout. When the smoke cleared after only 64 hands of final table action, Scott Eckert, a painting contractor from Fargo ND, took down the championship, leaving with a first place prize of $64,133, plus a prize package worth $3000 into the year-end HPT Open Championship.

Colorado's Largest Tournament Ends
Posted on October 16, 2007BLACK HAWK, COLORADO October 15, 2007-- The Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) at the Golden Gates Casino comes to end with Michael Evergreen winning first place. HPT arrived with a vengeance to Black Hawk, Colorado on October 1st. The qualifying poker tournaments were quickly sold out with 1545 poker players in the qualifying events. On Sunday, the HPT final table was dominated by Colorado residents with five of the six poker players from Colorado. The Texas No-Limit Holdem poker tournament was the largest in Colorados history with $463,000 in the prize pool.
